Who runs GAP?

The group is run by fully qualified leaders with
support from local volunteers. All staff hold full
CRB checks and are managed by a committee
of trustees, Basingstoke Voluntary Services, and
funded in partnership with Hampshire County
Council Youth Service, as well as being affiliated
with Mencap.

GAP meets on a Wednesday evening from
7pm to 9pm at the Junction 6 Youth Club
based on the school campus at Everest
Community Academy. Every session is
structured so that all the young people
involved get to socialise with others, learn
a new skill and participate in something
different. Everyone will get to work towards
a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award in a safe and
encouraging environment.

Want to help out as
a volunteer?

Basingstoke GAP are always looking for new volunteers
to support our young people on a Wednesday evening.
Many volunteers find it a very rewarding experience.
If you are interested in volunteering then call Jaynie
on the  details on the conact page. All volunteers have
to be willing to undergo an enhanced Criminal
Records Bureau Check.

Want to support us further?

As a small local charity, we are lucky to receive some
funding from Hampshire County Council Youth Service
but this funding is not ongoing and therefore we are
always looking for further funds to pay for the group’s
activities. If you think you can support the group, however
small the donation, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
You can now donate to Basingstoke GAP through
JustGiving.com.
Your donation can turn into funding money, as gift aid or
many other things!
Thank you!

Many of our GAP members also attend The Cafe Project during the day.
While there, members develop skills which are extremely
benficial within mainstream employment.
